Dear friends all over the world.
Thank you to all of you for the past year in which we were able to advance our beloved sport together. Together we will look forward to 2024 and continue our path together in the right direction. I am confident that with the 1st FISU Powerlifting World Championships we will take a step forward and expand university sport for the future. The year 2024 will be an exciting year as we can certainly expect many participants with the World Bench Press Championships in Austin Texas and are organizing a great championship with our member Powerlifting America. In 2024 there will also be qualifications for the World Games in both classic powerlifting and equipped, which will certainly be a challenge for all athletes, and we expect many participants in this regard because it is unique to be able to take part in the World Games. In Malta we will be hosting the Sub-junior and Junior World Championships, and our young athletes will certainly prove themselves here again and I am confident that the participation will be very great. I expect the same for the Masters World Championships in Sun City.
This year the start will again be Sheffield, where we expect the best athletes and an even larger number of spectators. This will be a huge spectacle again and we are already looking forward to it. Our sport is becoming more popular every year. This is what the numbers on our streaming, social media and Eurosport show us. All of this does not happen by itself, but through the work that my colleagues from the Executive, as well as the Commissions and Regions, have done to achieve all of this. Our employees and our general manager. Thank you to everyone as well as to our athletes and trainers who of course contributed the most with their work and their hard training and good performances. I would like to thank everyone who supports us financially and especially our partners SBD and Eleiko who have always accompanied us over the years on the path we have taken to get here. Thanks to all our associations without whom this would not be possible, for the trust they have given our team to achieve all of this. We still have a big wish, and we hope that Stephan Fox from AIMS will do everything in his power to accompany us on the way to IOC recognition and finally make it possible after 51 years of existence. We certainly deserve to be recognized. Thanks to the media team for their great work and everyone who works as judges, officials or at the official table at world and regional championships to ensure that everything goes smoothly. Big thanks to all the organizers, without them there would be no world or regional championships. I wish you all the best, health and happiness for the year 2024
