World Equipped Championships 2021 - 93kg class

Day 4 of the World Open Equipped Powerlifting Championships in Stavanger, Norway ended with a dramatic 93kg class.

Ukraine’s Kostiantyn Musiienko was nominated in first place but struggled on squat – his first looked tough and failed on downward movement. Niki Lentz Nielsen of Denmark looked strong with his 390kg opener but missed two attempts to extend his own world record. Musiienko fell forward with his second squat as well and put himself under a lot of pressure. He got his third on the board but went into bench in a surprising 4th place with ROC’s Dmitry Inzarkin in second place behind Nielsen.

Musiienko’s massive bench opener of 325kg put him in the lead but attempting a world record of 351.5kg after failing 340kg may have been a bit ambitious and left kilos on the platform. His teammate got himself into overall 2nd place with 290kg with Inzarkin only 10kg behind.

Inzarkin moved into 2nd place after opening deadlifts and when Musiienko missed his second, Inzarkin moved past into the lead. In the final round, Musiienko missed again and Ukraine’s Volodymyr Rysiyev moved into the lead with 340kg but Inzarkin responded with an easy looking 352.5kg to take his 4th world world title.
