WADA Publishes 2023 Prohibited List

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has published the 2023 Prohibited List, the 2023 Summary of Major Modifications and Explanatory Notes, and the 2023 Monitoring Program.

The 2022 List was approved by WADA’s Executive Committee (ExCo) during its meeting on 23 September 2022 and enters into force on 01 January 2023.

Key Notables from the 2023 Prohibited List (further information can be found in the Summary of Major Modifications and Explanatory Notes):

  • Tramadol will be prohibited in-competition as of 01 January 2024
  • Cannabis remains prohibited in-competition

The 2022 Prohibited List remains in effect until 31 December 2022.
