Mrs Wang Yan, Secretary General of the Chinese IPF affiliate, China Powerlifting, recently visited the IPF Headquarters in Luxembourg to meet with Gaston Parage, IPF President, and Emanuel Scheiber, IPF General Manager.
Many topics were discussed on the subject of developing powerlifting in China. Mrs Wang explained their plans to conduct national events and championships and to send teams to international events. China Powerlifting plans to send a full team to Malta for the Classic World Championships and for the President and Secretary General to attend the AGM, which will be held during this event.
University Sport was also on the agenda and China Powerlifting will work together with several Universities to ensure a solid presence at the IPF University Cup and the FISU World Championships Powerlifting 2024 in Tartu, Estonia.
Another major topic of discussion was The World Games 2025 which will be held in Chengdu, China. The IPF will need to work closely with China Powerlifting to prepare and ensure the best possible organisation for this prestigious competition.
With many events and championships planned in China in the coming years, the IPF is confident in the growth of powerlifting in China under the IPF umbrella and look forward to the host country at the next World Games fielding a powerful team.
