IPF Secures TV Broadcast Partnership for North America

The IPF and CBS Sports (broadcaster of the Super Bowl 2024) have signed a multi-year agreement to bring IPF powerlifting to the TV in the USA and the whole of North America.

CBS Sports is one of the most prestigious sports channels in North America, and has a reach of more than 65 million households just within the US. CBS Sports broadcasts many prestigious sporting events and now IPF Powerlifting is also part of their portfolio.

The first broadcast event in 2024 will be the IPF World Bench Press Championships in Austin, Texas. At this “home” event, CBS Sports will broadcast the prime time session LIVE on 6 days of the competition.  There will also be a highlights show covering the whole event after the championship concludes.

CBS will also broadcast highlights of the IPF Open Classic World Championships in Lithuania, as well as the IPF Open Equipped World Championships in Iceland. Both of these events are qualifiers for The World Games 2025 in Chengdu, China.

IPF President, Gaston Parage: “With CBS Sports the IPF will increase its broadcasting portfolio dramatically with coverage of all of North America”

IPF Secretary General and President of Powerlifting America, Dr Robert Keller: “Partnering with CBS Sports will showcase our sport to millions of households in the USA and the whole of North America. This will certainly give our sport an additional boost in the United States and we can’t wait to see our powerlifting superstars on TV.”
