Dear friends,
It is great sadness that I share with you the passing of Mr. Joachim Lehmann, a prominent member of the German Powerlifting Federation.
At 72, Joachim passed away on September 3, 2021, after a long and delibating illness.
Joachim was a tireless volunteer for our sport, whether he was officiating, or commentating at a championship, he was always prepared to serve in any capacity for our beloved sport.
Joachim directed many German championships, and did so with great passion. He also served as the Vice-President of the Berlin Weightlifting Association, and was a National Referee.
We have lost a dear friend, and I ask that you take a moment to remember and recognize his exceptional efforts and work for our sport.
On bahalf of the IPF Executive Committee, and all of our Member Federations, we send our sincerest condolences to the family of Joachim, his many friends, and to the members and officials of the BVDK.
