Rhaea Stinn runs for IWGA Athletes Committee

The International World Games Association created an Athletes Committee in 2022 in order to give a voice to the athletes at decision-making level. This was initially created as an interim body ahead of ratification at the 2024 IWGA AGM. Following ratification, the World Games participating athletes will elect the Athletes Committee members at the 2025 edition of The World Games in Chengdu, China, and at each edition of the event thereafter.

Rhaea Stinn was elected to the interim Athletes Committee in 2022 and will now stand for election for the period 2025 - 2029.

Rhaea is one of the IPF’s most distinguished equipped powerlifters. World record holder in bench press, she has been lifting internationally for 20 years, having been sub-junior world champion in 2006. She has since won the open world title five times in powerlifting and twice in bench press. In fact, she has held the 84kg powerlifting world title since 2019 and she was the gold medal winner in the super heavyweight class at the 2022 World Games in Alabama.

Rhaea is an outstanding athlete and a great ambassador to our sport. We can think of no one better to give a voice to our athletes, and we wholeheartedly support her candidacy.
