We were honoured to have the Minister of Sport and Culture, Mr Dauren Abayev, pay a visit to the World Bench Press Championships today in Almaty. He met with the IPF Executive and officials of the Kazakhstan Powerlifting Federation and had a very informative discussion about the development of powerlifting in Kazakhstan.
He was very impressed by the high quality of the competition and the strength and dedication of the athletes and even took to the platform himself for a 100kg bench press!
