International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) has issued an anti-doping rule violation, which includes a three (3) year period of ineligibility against Sidnei dos Santos Viana from Brazil. The athlete’s urine sample,
collected In-competition on 10 September 2023, revealed the presence of Nandrolone, Clomifene, Canrenone and Hydrochlorothiazide. Nandrolone is listed in Section S1 of the WADA Prohibited List as an Anabolic Androgenic Steroids. Clomifene is listed in Section S4 as a Hormone and Metabolic Modulator.
Canrenone and Hyrdocholorthiazide are both listed in Secton S5 as Diuretics and Masking Agents.
The athlete’s period of ineligibility will conclude on 07 November 2026. Until that time, the Athlete is subject to a prohibition against participation purusant to Article 10.4.1 of the IPF Anti-Doping Rules.
