International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) has issued an anti-doping rule violation, which includes a four (4) year period of ineligibility against Mehmet Sezgin Kucukyarma from Türkiye. The athlete’s urine sample, collected In-competition on 07 April 2023, revealed the presence of Metandienone, 19-norandrosterone, which are listed in Section S1 of the WADA Prohibited List as Anabolic Androgenic Steroids, as well as Carboxy-THC which is listed in Section S8 of the WADA Prohibited List as Cannabinoids.
The athlete’s period of ineligibility will conclude on 08 May 2027. Until that time, the Athlete is subject to a prohibition against participation purusant to Article 10.4.1 of the IPF Anti-Doping Rules.
