International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) announced today that Francesca Parello from Italy received a
three-year sanction for an anti-doping rule violation. The athlete’s urine sample, collected out-of-
competition on 06 July 2022, revealed the presence of Methandriol which is listed in Section S1 of the
WADA Prohibited List as an Anabolic Androgenic Steroid.
The athlete’s period of ineligibility will conclude on 01 September 2025. Until that time, the Athlete is
subject to a prohibition against participation purusant to Article 10.4.1 of the IPF Anti-Doping Rules.
