During April 2025, the Executive Committee of the IPF decided that the following knee sleeves would be removed from the IPF “Approved List of Apparel and Equipment for Use at IPF Competitions” with immediate effect. However, athletes would be permitted to continue using these sleeves until 18 August 2025, after which they would no longer be allowed in any events sanctioned by the IPF or its regional and national affiliates.
Knee Sleeves Affected:
- INZER ErgoPro Knee Sleeves & INZER ErgoPro “Kona” Knee Sleeves – IPF ID: 270
- Titan Knee Sleeves (TKS) 7mm – IPF ID: 127
- ONI Knee Sleeve Pro – IPF ID: 113 (Equipped & Classic)
- Strength Shop 7mm Inferno PRO Knee Sleeves Extra Stiff Black – IPF ID: 221-1
- Fortex Knee Sleeves 7mm Extra Stiff (Various Colours) – IPF ID: 205
- A7 Hourglass Knee Sleeves Rigor Mortis (Various Colours) – IPF ID: 100
After thorough consideration, taking into account the best interest of all the IPF athletes and concerning all the manufacturers, the IPF has decided, in the spirit of fairness and cooperation, to reverse its earlier decision concerning the stiff knee sleeves.
The six knee sleeves listed above may therefore continue to be used in all IPF-sanctioned competitions through the end of 2026.
During this extended period, the Executive Committee will conduct a review of the Technical Rule Book and Equipment Manual and will initiate a process for setting up a new approval procedure.
